So you finally got the hang of your Cricut and feel comfortable with all the terminology and commands of design space and now you’ve broadened your crafting horizons by adding a Glowforge! Excellent, until you realize that not all SVG’s are created equally or at least work equally in every application.
You also start to realize you are going to need to learn a whole new design language in the form of Adobe Illustrator, CorelDraw or Inkscape. And, that Inkscape is the only free program. The others require a monthly subscription fee. You also learn that Silhouette (Cricut’s main competitor) has a program to do this (also for a fee) and Cricut doesn’t! Cricut does not allow you to save your designs in SVG format. I know, bummer right? So basically, while all that is worth the effort it requires time and patience. We all know what our first priority is when we get a Glowforge…TO LASER THINGS. Lots of things and NOW!
Here is one solution to that problem. Below is a video tutorial of how I came up with a pretty easy “work around”. It has made my life so much easier being able to use so many of my Cricut designs in my Glowforge! Want to see more laser crafts?
